Master Programs Using Grovesite

To help keep all chapter programs uniformed as "TEXAS" Master Programs, these things are required:

        ·       Page Color
·       Top logo for each chapter (program logo and AgriLife logo)
·       Footer at bottom of  chapters home page (only)
·       Chapter contact persons, name, address should be in footer
·       A link (in menu box) to the Main Texas site and AgriLife Extension
·       Please keep in mind copyright and identity guidelines
·       Login access is limited (questions - contact Diann Mitchell)


Log-in to GroveSite and Change Password

To Log into GroveSite: You will receive an email from GroveSite explaining the rules.
Choose accept at the bottom of their email.
You will get an email with your ID,  PASSWORD and URL of your new website.
Go to the URL and login using the ID/PASSWORD.

Changing Password: Log with the ID and PASSWORD given to you. Once logged in, Choose MY INFO from the top menu

In the Manage My Information box, type in your info and change password, confirm password and Save


Editing Content in Left Menu Box:
  • Log-in
  • Choose Turn on edit from the top menu
  • Choose [edit] by the content (in left menu box)
  • In Navigation text box, change the content
  • Save

Making a new Menu Link: (in Left Menu Box)
  • Log-in 
  • Turn on Edit
  • Choose New Page(in left menu box)
  • Choose Web Page (default)
  • Add Page
  • Add content in Navigation text box
  • Choose the Page Security you want (click on Page security for help)
  • In the Show Page Below, Choose where you want the content to be
  • Save

Making an external Link (left menu box)
  • Log-in 
  • Choose New Page
  • In the Add New Page (Page Type) choose, Link to another web page external,
  • Choose Add Page
  • Add website name in Navigation text box
  • Copy and Paste website address in the Complete URL box
  • Save

Editing Content On a Page
  • Log-in
  • Turn on edit
  • In the left menu box, Click on content to edit
  • Choose [edit]
  • To create a page heading: Heading box (large font) or Sub Heading/URL (medium font)  
  • Choose WYSIWYG HTML Editor (blue text under Item text box)
  • In the HTML Editor box enter content
  • Choose Normal (right above Save)
  • Save

Making an Email Address Link:
  • Turn on Edit
  • Choose Edit next to the content you want to edit
  • Choose WYSIWYG HTLM Editor
  • In the HTML Editor box Left click and highlight text
  • With text highlighted, Choose the picture of the linkm (left top menu)
  • In the Type boxChoose Mailto: enter email address here
  • Choose OK
  • Save

Creating an External Link in Content: (box on right side of page)
  • Turn on Edit
  • Choose Edit nextto the content you want to edit
  • Choose WYSIWYG HTLM Editor
  • In the HTML Editor box Left click and highlight text
  • With text highlighted, Choose the picture of the link
  • In the URL: box Type in web address (copy/past)
  • OK
  • Save

Creating On-going Events In Calendar
  • Open Calendar
  • Enter the Event Name
  • Select a Date
  • Enter Start Time
  • Check time zone to make sure it’s set to (US and Canada)
  • Check Create Series of Events (Yes)
  • Enter End Date
  • Choose the day of the week
  • Choose Add

Adding Multi Photos
  • To add multi photos. (15 photos at a time - recommended)  The photos will need to be put into a zip file. Not to worry if you don't have zip software, try this!
  • Right Click on Startmenu
  • Choose Explore
  • Choose the down arrow on the end of the Address window
  • Browse over to your photo folder
  • Hold down the Ctrl key and Left click on the photo (highlights them)
    With photos selected (highlighted)
  • Right click and choose Send To, Compressed (zipped) folder

    Now...Open Grovesite and log in, turn on edit

 

  • In the green menu box Choose Add New Page
  • Under Page Type Choose File Library, Add Page
  • Give it a Navigation text name (Photos)
  • Choose Save
  • Open the new Photos link
  • On the page to your right Choose Add a New File
  • In Upload window, Browse over to your zip file and select file
  • IMPORTANT - Check the little box that reads -
  • For .zip file, expand and post individual files
  • Choose Add

Creating (expand/collapsed) Links on Left Menu
  • Log-in and Turn on Edit
  • Open a page with multiple Items on it
  • Open first (Edit Item on page) then move on to the second item on same page
  • Select Edit Item, Edit Item Box will open
  • Towards the bottom of this box will be a Navigation Text box 
  • Add title or name  in this box, (this will appear in green menu as a dropdown)
  • Save

Managing Participant Security
  • Log-in
  • Select Administration from the top menu bar
  • Select Manage Page Security under the Membership & Security heading
  • Click on the page name from the Page Security Manager list on the left
  • On the right is a list of all Enrolled Members.
  • To  manage individual security
  • Select page by choosing one of the options next to persons names
  • If you select something different than the default, it will show up as an exception in the Page Security Manager

Adding a File to be Downloaded (PDF,Word, Document or PPT)
  • Log-in
  • Turn on edit
  • In the LEFT page box Choose New File
  • In Add New Item box, under Item Type Choose File to be downloaded
  • In Upload picture or other file, Browse over to your file (pdf,word, doc..etc)
  • Click on the file, Choose Open
  • In the Add item below, Choose where you want the file to be (Top of page…etc.)
  • Choose Add  (Maximum size of a single file upload in megabytes (1-100).
    Uploading single files larger than 50mb will take a long time and may not be reliable due to variability in Internet performance.)
